Jake

This picture was taken, by me, when Jake was a week old

I took this one Christmas Eve. Jake is 10 1/2 months
Feels like he got here yesterday

Christmas

We had a great Christmas. Jake was excellent in church, he even sang with the choir. He didn't cry every time someone looked at him, and he liked opening presents. He got a truckload of toys and we have nowhere to put them. Here are a few pictures.

These are Jake's Christmas jammies

Still terrorizing Molly

His favorite present from Aunt Cheryl

This kid had too much nog!

This is his present from Aunt Cheryl, he really does love it and plays with it ALL the time

Christmas Morning at Aunt Jodie's
Thanks Aunt Mel for reading our blog! I put everything on Facebook now, so I am never on here. I will continue to update, knowing you are there!!!

December ( A little catch up!)

Jake started taking steps a few days after Thanksgiving. He is now very confident in his walking. My house has been fully baby proofed now!

My mom went to Spain for her birthday and flew back through New York. So we took the train up to see her. It was SO cold, but we had a great day anyway. Jake did so well and even showed off all of his new tricks!

Over the last few months Jake has really started to take an interest in Molly. He loves to climb in her bed and torture her. Molly is so good and lets him do what he wants to her!
We bought new furniture and moved Jake's toys to the bottom shelf. One basket is his and one is Mike's remotes and controllers for the Wii and his Playstation. Jake climbs into his basket so he has better access to Mike's. He loves it!
I know it took me a long time to post something. Our computer was down for awhile and I am just starting to be able to get my pictures on here. I am still trying to get Jake's Santa picture scanned in and will post it when I can.

I am not sure if anyone even looks at this blog anymore...so if you do, will you leave me a note, just so I know!

I hope you all are well and have a very Happy Holiday!

Jake's Pictures

We had our pictures taken while we were in Seattle by Kristen Honeycutt. The same photographer we used last time. She is the best! Mike and I wanted some family pics too, so we jumped in a few. We don't love all the ones of us, but, we LOVE the ones of Jakey.
Have a look and let me know what you think!
Also, just wanted to give a quick update. Jake started crawling two days after coming home from Seattle. He started slow, for two days and was cruising the next week. He pulls himself up on everything! We think he will walk by Thanksgiving. Not happy! But, he is a great baby and even the sleeping is starting to get better!
More pictures later

Seattle

After the beach we went home for about 22 hours, did laundry and repacked to go to Seattle. We were flying out of Newark at the crack of dawn, so we decided it would be easier to sleep in a hotel the night before we left. Newark is about an hour away from here and to make sure we got our money's worth of hotel we went up during the day. It ended up working out great and we enjoyed ourselves. We left Newark at 7:30 am and arrived in Seattle a little after 10 am. Nice!

I can't resist taking pictures of him sleeping.
This is at the Hotel in Newark

When we got to Seattle we decided that we needed to take Mike to Ray's. I have been talking about it for years and I have never taken him before.
At Grammie's
Connie has been dying to give Jake rice cereal.
She finally got her chance

But, I think he wore most of it!

After having breakfast with Becky, Jason, Sydney, and Maria, on Saturday, it was time for Megan and Eddie's Wedding. It rained and the location had to be moved, but the detail and thought that went into this wedding was amazing! It was a beautiful ceremony, Megan was gorgeous and Eddie was awesome as usual.

Isn't she gorgeous! They grow up so fast *sigh*

Dinner was fantastic and Jake got to play with Gpa G

Then we danced

You both are such incredible people. Be kind to each other and enjoy every minute. We love you and congratulate you! On Sunday we decided to go see the Mariner's lose to Tampa.

It was not a good game, but we had a great time! We got there Friday, went to the Mariner's on Sunday and the camera died Monday morning. So there will be more pictures as people send them. Maria has some, Erin has some and my mom has a few. No pressure guys, but the blog isn't complete yet...

Summer Fun

After I came home from Seattle in April, I thought that we would have a pretty lazy summer. Neither of us working and with a baby, what would we do. I was wrong. After getting back from Illinois we had three weeks to rest before taking off on our first ever two week vacation! We had the chance to go to the Jersey Shore for a week and then off to Seattle for Megan's wedding and to see Grammie and Grandpa.

We will start with the beach. It was really hot and I think babies should be inside during the summer (I also don't like the beach and this gave me a really great excuse. I know I got married on a beach, but that is Mexico, not New Jersey. I don't like the water and I don't like the sand. Mike on the other hand could be on the beach from morning to night.) Anyway, we did get to the beach for about an hour a couple of days. Jake was not that into it. Maybe next year he will like it more. Mike buried him up to his chest on the day that I forgot my camera. He liked that for about two minutes. I feel like I only have pictures of him in this bathing suit. He does have other suits, but this one has the long sleeve rash guard shirt, which is really great!

Jake loves to suck on bottles. This is a beer bottle and there is nothing in it! I just thought that Gpa G would like the Notre Dame hat. That's my brother in law, Ed
Jake's first Carousel ride
(do you say Merry go round or carousel...is that a coast thing?)

A Few July Shots

We have had a really busy and fun summer. Neither Mike nor I had a full time job this summer, so we were able to stay home together with Jake. You never get this time again and neither of us had to miss it. We were truly blessed! So I thought I would put up a few of Jake's cuter moments throughout July.

This is Jake's new highchair and this is his first time sitting in it.
He really seems to like it and doesn't fight me...yet!
I just love that face!
On this day I forgot his hat and his sunscreen, so he almost didn't make it into the pool. He didn't like swimming with Daddy as much as he liked sitting in this car. He has gained some weight (finally!) since I started giving him some formula everyday, but this picture makes him look like a chunk! I love the arm out the window!
This is a great picture of Jake right before he fell off the table.
(into Mike's arms, calm down!)
Mike let Jake "try a little lime juice on his binki"

Lake of Egypt

Jake and I went to Illinois last weekend to see my family. All of my cousins have babies now so we thought we should get all the kiddies together. Sean, Mary and Alexsis came down from Chicago and we all stayed at my Aunt Carlene and Uncle Paul's house. We had the best time! We fished and played monopoly (which I lost because I gave Seth my railroads and I am still mad about it!!! Oh and Uncle Larry and I cheated once!) We ate a lot and laughed a ton! It was a great trip and I am so glad that Jake got to meet everyone! I miss you guys so much!

Mary, Lex, Sean, Jake and I My Grandpa with Jake. Jake LOVED Grandpa and would squeal every time he saw him! Now we really know where Jake gets his eye color. Grandpa wasn't feeling well, but had a good time anyway.

Alexsis caught a fish.
Jake is crying because it is cold, not because he is scared of Larry! I think!
Grandma Dee and I with Jake
Grandma Wendy (until she comes up with her name)

4 Months

I wanted to show some cute pictures of Jake from over the summer. He is growing so big and changing everyday!

I love this one of Jake. He has just found his nose and this is a common pose.
And I love him in Mike's hat!
We finally felt that Jake was ready for his jumpy seat. He likes to sit sideways and pivot on one toe!
The doctor told me to start giving Jake cereal at night to help him sleep longer, I wanted to wait until as close to 6 months as I could, but Jake wakes up every two hours to eat, so I gave in...he liked it at first and I started to give him cereal every night. Now Jake sleeps two and a half hours before he wakes up to eat!! Lucky me!!!
Mike thinks it's funny to put Jake in Molly's bed. Molly is very patient with Jake and Daddy!

Our crazy weekend

The weekend of the 2oth was so busy for us. Our 4 year anniversary was Friday, we had tickets to the Phillies Saturday and our friend's christening Sunday. Here are some pictures.

My mom bought Mike Phillies tickets for his birthday and we were so excited to take Jake to his first baseball game. Most of the games were sold out so my mom got what she could and we were near the top of the stadium. We hiked to our seats only to find out that we were directly in the sun, so we trekked down to wait for it to set. But of course, it was the solstice, so we ended up hanging out in right field. We had a blast. Jake loved it! Mike's dad got him a "My first Phillies tee" and his cousin got him a hat so he was ready to go. MANY people stopped us to ooh and ahh about his first game. We even got a certificate.
Mike and I have friends that had twin boys 2 weeks before Jake was born. This was their christening day. I swear, Mike is going to have to start taking pictures of Jake and I!One of Mike's favorite things to do with Jake is put him on his head. Jake is teething and never stops drooling. I warn Mike about this all the time!
